Recess

The Tree House
By Kyle

Many lunch periods were spent here, playing our imagination, along with the help of a few nice sticks for guns and rocks for ammo. What’s better than a friendly game “sniper” or “attack and defend” while hiding in a tree? Maybe a game of “I’ll race you to the top” and then we  jump off! That’s the other thing about this tree, its height. It’s perfect!, not to big for little kids and not to small for big kids. This tree has so many uses you can’t name them all and that is why I love our tree house so much.

The Butterfly Project

Butterflies
By Liam T.

Butterflies are soaring through the air on wings of paper to remember the children of the Holocaust. Last week we learned about the children in World War II and what their life was like. We learned the amount of children who died numbered over 1,500,000. Then we learned about a project in Houston, Texas, to create butterflies in loving memory of those children. All of the boys instantly took an immense liking to this project and started right away painting on the backs of those butterflies. Some boys even went home and told their families about this project, only to have their families caught up in it too! The project is going on until the year 1012, and then it will be released… one and a half million butterflies to remind us of what show not be forgotten. It inspired my heart to see all of these people coming together to honor unknown children from the distant past.
